ABOUT US

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to stop by our blog.

My name is Hannah, the one behind the thrown together words, and the handsome guy in the photo below is Nate, my biggest fan (aka: my husband). He is the best!

Here is a little bit about the two of us.

Marriage: Nate and I were married on May 4, 2014. He quickly became my best friend, my biggest supporter, the love of my life, and so much more. He strives to love me as Christ loves the church, and I do my best to be the help mate that God has called me to be. I have to say that each year keeps getting sweeter with him by my side.

The Blog: I began this blog a few months after we were married, my first post appeared in August of 2014. (You can read the first post here.) In High School and College, writing always seemed like a chore. Writing assignment after writing assignment, it seemed endless. Now that I have bid farewell to those day and have the freedom to write on my own terms, writing is not so bad. I have come to enjoy it.

The main reason that I felt compelled, to simmer up a blog of my own, is due to the fact that my husband and I both lived away from our families, during the first three years of marriage. We moved to Indiana, near my family, in 2018. We have not regretted that decision. Living next door to Grandma & Grandpa is an absolute treat!

Day Jobs: Nate ended up in the Paulding, Ohio area soon after he achieved his accounting degree from the University of Akron. Single at the time, he felt God leading him to a job three hours from his hometown. He works as a staff accountant at a manufacturing company in Van Wert, Ohio. He has been there for several years now and is a wonderful asset to his company. He drives to Ohio two days and has an office close to home the other days.

I am a stay-at-home mom to our two children, Bennett (3) and Calla (1). What a privilege it is to stay home and nurture them day in and day out.

Random Facts: We both hold the "youngest child" title in our families. Some wonder how that goes. No concerns that I can see. With a combined number of thirty nieces and nephews between us, we are far from the youngest.

Nate and I officially met around the snack table at a Youth Group gathering back in August of 2013. I should have known that our meeting around food would be an indicator that I would struggle to keep the grocery bill down once we were married.

My parents had never heard of or met Nate Zollinger, prior to him proposing to me. It was amazing to see how God settled it in their hearts and gave them both such peace. They felt certain that Nate was the one for me, especially after seeing God work mightily in my heart.

Some of our favorite hobbies include playing games, testing out a new coffee shop, working on house projects together, and anything that has to do with spending time with each other.

I would say that just about covers it. We are children of God on a journey called life, looking forward to our eternal destination.

LIFE would be worthless without LOVE, especially God's LOVE. That is why this blog is called LIFE + LOVE.
